Arg. journo says Venezuelan S.S. seized footage

Jorge Lanata, one of Argentina's most recognized journalists, says he and his TV crew were detained for hours in the basement of Caracas' international airport the day after Hugo Chávez was re-elected president earlier this month.
Mr. Lanata says he was interrogated by Venezuelan secret service agents for broadcasting alleged copies of electronic materials that showed he and others were ordered to be spied upon during their visit to the country by invitation of the opposition candidate's party to serve as election monitors.
Mr. Lanata hosts an info-tainment Sunday night program called Periodismo Para Todos that pairs field reporting and investigations with comedians dressed as leading Argentine politicians and mocking themselves. Mr. Lanata says the agents erased most of their footage of the Venezuelan elections from the staff's video cameras, cell phones and computers.
