Regarding your article, "Ex-Dr Pepper town seeks new image to boost tourism", where did you get your information that, "The bicycle race was canceled after the organizers failed to show"? Your statement is factually incorrect, as is the number of arts and crafts booths and food vendors represented.
The Tour de Pepper organizers worked diligently to offer a bike ride this year - it would've been the 6th annual TDP. Plans did not come together for a June event and it was with great thought and regret that the decision was made to postpone the ride until 2015. The biking community was notified in April of this year, well before the summer festival.
Your insinuation that organizers left riders, and our town, high and dry is wholly insulting. Your failure to contact ride organizers directly is greatly disappointing.
